Triking Alaska's
Our Latest Book in
|
June 202325 June 2023 Woops! And there was me thinking I had added to the June Journal. Well, this month has been rather boring really. We finished a few more little jobs on the house and have added Starlink RV Mobile Internet to the mix. The Starlink allows us to get Internet everywhere in Australia where we can see the Southern Sky, so that's pretty much everywhere. It's portable and not locked to an address, so that is even better, though that portability does cost a little more. So the latest project is our modifying the unit to be able to mount it on our roof or on the ground, and to change the router so we can run it off of 12v, and have it running while we are in motion, so no more dead spots for calls, text or Internet where the mobile phone wont work. The modification plan is so that we can take it off the roof and mount it on a house or on the ground if we park under trees etc. It's a bit of a project but we will see if we can do it. The hardest part is the roof mount. We have started pruning the grape vines at Ducketts Mill Wines and as of today our Farm/Chook sit ended and so we moved the whole 1.5 kilometres over to Ducketts, and we will be here until the pruning is done in about 6-8 weeks.
Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will. |
